Spanish uses a double negative, with no preceding the verb and a negative word following the verb: No conozco a nadie (literally, I don't know no oneÆ); No trabajo nunca; No hablo francés tampoco; No tengo nada, etc. In addition, to answer a yes/no question in the negative, you would use another no: Necesita usted algo?-- No, no necesito nada.

Note that before a masculine singular noun, ninguno and alguno drop the final -o and take a written accent on the u: ningún taxi, algún restaurante, but ninguna cajera, de ninguna manera (æno wayÆ).
